Gardens have become a focal point in today’s home can be a real source of pride. Although adding foliage is a great way to spruce up your backyard there are also lots of other ways besides simply adding plants.

Below are a few options just to get you thinking beyond plants and pots.

One simple way to do this is by investing in a decorative statue. Depending on the size of your backyard the size of this will vary. If you have a large garden you could invest in a grand piece, making it the Centre point of your garden. However it does not need to be grand to add to the overall ambiance. Often smaller statues placed throughout your garden can add a nice touch to complement your plants, creating a gallery in your garden.

A water feature can really stand out and add glamour to your garden. The gentle trickle of water creates an ambient sound to help you relax and add calm to your environment. Again this does not necessarily need to be a large feature, or one that needs to be installed professionally. A simpler option to consider is a nice bird birth. Although you will not get the trickle of water, you will be able to enjoy the chirping of birdsong from the flying friends you can attract with this decorative feature.

Putting in items for you to lounge upon can be a really nice way to add comfort to your outdoor space. A simple option is to use deck chairs, with bright colours, stripes, big flower prints which are all available to add brightness even on a dull day. Adding a garden bench can also be a very lovely way to create a country cottage feel even if your garden is in the Centre of town. A garden table and chairs is another option, with the choice of wooden, metal and cheaper (but still attractive) plastic sets, giving a focal point for gathering with friends and family outside. Not only do these objects add decoration to your back yard they also provide a space for you to sit back and enjoy the space in a relaxing and calm manner.

Another way to add a decorative touch in your garden is through lighting. This is a really great way to also help you enjoy your garden at night, lighting the plants and flowers for you to enjoy. Some options include adding decorative lighting in trees, or using lighting to illuminate a pathway or fountain. A good option for the garden is LED Strip Lights, which are a series of small lights connected together to create a beautiful bathing light. You can get them in a variety of different colours to suit your tastes and to add a special unique touch to your garden. A full range of products can be found at offering a wide range of designs and styles for you to choose from.

There are so many options to add a sparkle to your garden that go beyond putting in an extra plant, shrub or flower. Statues and fountains can add a touch of grandeur, with tables and chairs providing the comfort to enjoy the space. Lights can also help you enjoy the space to its full advantage by lighting up the space for you enabling you to enjoy the night time outside. So add a little touch of sparkle and glamour and enjoy your garden to its full potential.
